PRIVACY STATEMENT
This Privacy Statement informs you about what personal data I collect, how I use it, and how I store and protect it.


What data do I collect and why?

  • Name and age – Basic information to get to know you and tailor the sessions to your needs.

  • Address, email address, and phone number – To contact you regarding appointments. I will usually contact you via the method you first used, but if I cannot reach you, I may try another method.

  • Emergency contact / medical professional details – In rare cases where I am concerned about your safety, I may need to contact a designated person. I will always inform you beforehand if possible.

  • Session notes – I keep brief notes for therapeutic and professional purposes. These are stored in a password-protected file on my computer or as hard copies in a locked cabinet.


Will your data be shared?
I do not sell or pass on your data for commercial or unethical reasons. I may be legally required to share information in the following circumstances:

  • If ordered by a court (e.g. subpoena).

  • If I believe that you or someone else is at serious risk of harm.

  • In supervision, where your first name only is used, and identifying details are omitted.


How is your data stored?
Your information is stored securely. Hard copies are kept in a locked filing cabinet. Digital records (initials only) are saved on a password-protected computer. Your phone number may be stored on my business mobile using your first name and last initial. Only I have access to this data.

How long will I keep your data?
I will retain your personal data and session notes for 7 years, as required by my professional indemnity insurance. After this time, all documents will be securely destroyed, and your phone number will be deleted from my mobile phone.

Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your data at any time, in accordance with data protection laws. Please contact me if you wish to do so.

Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for processing your data is your informed consent and the legitimate interest in providing therapeutic services.
